Budget airlines are obviously the cheapest options. The most preferred airline is easyJet. This is because easyJet offers direct flights from different airports in the United Kingdom to two major international airports in Switzerland. The service is excellent with an average return ticket costing around 75 GBP only.
Given its magical climate, Switzerland is a year-round destination for tourists and holidaymakers. Spring (March – May) and autumn (September – October) are ideal for vacations. The average temperature is 12 °C during daytime. Summers (June – August) are mild (23 °C) and winters (December – February) are extremely cold (3 °C on average). However winter has its own set of admirers who participate in winter sports and partake of Christmas festivities.
As already mentioned above, Switzerland does not experience a low-season as such. There is always something in it for someone here. However, October and November witness some drop in tourist arrivals. For one thing, the weather is getting colder. Secondly, foreigners and expatriates are seen to wait till Christmas to book their flights for that is when they get their holidays. This causes ticket prices and accommodation costs to drop down during this shoulder season.
British nationals do not need visa to enter and stay in Switzerland. The same is true of those British subjects who have acquired a Right of Abode in the UK.
