Is Philippines Safe to Travel?

According to the latest FCO advice, it is against travel to specific areas of Philippines namely western Mindanao and Sulu, as there is a terrorism threat throughout this area. However consult your consulate prior to your travel as the situation keeps changing from time to time. Crime rate is very low throughout the rest of the country. You can stay safe if you take all the precautionary measures. It is recommended that a tourists must travel with the registered airline for international travel whereas keep someone from the friends, family or local contacts, If any with you during the local commuting.

A little bit of extra precautionary measures are also required to be taken during the downpours, as there are chances of slippery roads and land sliding in some area.

Another important factor is that you should keep yourself updates about the political situation of the country, and avoid participating in the local political events and large gatherings of protests.
