The Thrills and Excursions of Phnom Penh

Being the sprawling and sparkling capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh attracts a large variety of people and offers a variety of jaw-dropping and marvelous sites. There are many tourists who grab cheap flights to Phnom Penh only to spend their holiday-break in adventure and thrill and opt for various amusing and pleasurable activities, the city offers to them. This place has no dearth of entertainment and fun so just chill and get ready for the most exciting and adventuresome trip of your whole life.

Amusement Park is one of its best loved attractions where people enjoy and opt for a number of amusing activities. It is situated in the South Sisowath Quay and is packed with a big wavy floor section, a roller skating area, colorful ways and lots of booths where people burst the balloons. Not as much thrilling and enjoying as the shining Disney land but still offers a lot which is even beyond your imaginations. It provides you a true opportunity to believe that Cambodia has much more other then the Killing Fields and interesting history-events.

If you are an admirer of art, than you must head towards Artisans’ Association of Cambodia (AAC) that is located in close vicinity of Independence Monument and provides opportunity to a number of handicraft groups whose products are also sold. Ranging from handmade decor items to jewellery, fashion accessories and scarves, you will find a large agglomeration of many other interesting objects.

Do watch Khmer performing arts and the most famous places for this purpose are the Sovanna Phum Art Association, Royal University of Fine Arts and many other theatres and stages that host such shows. These include mask dances, folk, classical Apsara dancing and shadow puppet theatre. You can also try various cooking skills, once you are there in Phnom Penh as its culinary history goes back a long way. The cuisines and delicious dishes of Cambodia have strongly influenced French and many other nearby countries. There are many training schools where you can spend a day and learn various techniques. Golf is another favorite pass time in Phnom Penh that grabs the attention of a large crowd of locals as well as foreigners. The 1st ever golf club of the country was Cambodia Golf & Country Club that is an 18-hole course and was established in 1996. Comprising an area of more than 120 acres, the course also features a clubhouse, villas, various convention facilities, tennis courts and swimming pools.

There is another interesting and thrilling adventure which is called as F1 Go Karts and the best place to feature this race is Formula 1-style circuit that is located in the village of Kambol in Kandal, off the high way and covers the land area of almost 900 metres. The 150-metre straightaway, a small hill, turns and twists make it very entertaining and amusing for the beginners. You can also watch plenty of movies in Phnom Penh as there are many destinations in the city that feature big screens.
