Located in the Cape Peninsula, near Simon’s Town towards Cape Point, Boulders Beach is a stunning penguin watching the sheltered beach and forms part of the Table Mountain National Park. It is called \u2018Boulders beach\u2019 by dint of the \u2018granite boulders\u2019 providing shelter to the beach and its cute inhabitants. Other than scenic views what makes it a special place is that there are no restrictions about going close to the Penguins. You can have as many photos with these amazing creates as you like and make your kids happy.<\/p>\n

However, touching a penguin is not a good idea because these creatures have really strong beaks, sharp as a razor to use in their defence and if aggravated, they can tear off nose, ears or fingers easily. Plus feeding the penguins is not allowed. However, swimming is permitted in the warm false bay waters close to boulders beach but humans are restricted to swim at the boulders beach for their and the animal’s safety.<\/p>\n

This African Penguin colony settled here in 1982 and has grown to about 3000 of them just from two breeding pairs brought to the country in 82. It is here that this vulnerable bird can be observed at close range, wandering, mating and playing freely in a protected natural environment.<\/p>\n
