Because of the current disruptions imposed by adverse weather and heavy snowfall in many parts of the UK and Scotland, train services are disrupted at many routes. Also, signal problems and delays due to other reasons are also causing travel difficulties for rail and road travellers. While, at present, some rail services are also suspended in Scotland and will run at reduced frequencies because of the freezing conditions.<\/p>\n
Reports on local media indicate that the main Edinburg-Glasgow line would remain half hourly with the services every two hours between the Aberdeen and the above-stated destinations. A Spokesperson declared that the rail departments countrywide are putting in full effort to operate as many services as possible despite the extreme weather conditions and when road travel is difficult.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, many drivers remained stranded for hours, at roads blocked due to heavy snow and icy road conditions.<\/p>\n
Airports in UK and Scotland are also facing flight delays and disruptions at the hand of poor weather. Earlier announcements confirmed that Edinburg airport will operate as normal today after remaining shut for the most part of Monday and the week before. A spokesperson at Edinburg said that everything was going well today and that they are fully operational. Hopes were high at Aberdeen Airport as well, the spokesperson for the airport said that as long as the snow stays away, things are looking positive for the coming days.<\/p>\n
Heathrow and Gatwick also remained open while Glasgow airport released occasional warnings advising people of likely delays, disruptions and continued problems. All travellers flying or arriving at Glasgow airport are recommended to inquire current airport\/flight status before leaving home as delays and cancellations are expected to continue.<\/p>\n
