The new flight route has sparked excitement at a crucial time when airlines are already operating at their reduced capacities due to COVID-19. There will be three weekly flights from London Heathrow to Islamabad and four weekly flights to Lahore. Similarly, Virgin Atlantic will also serve flights from Manchester to Islamabad and Lahore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Virgin\u2019s chief commercial officer Juha Jarvinen said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Pakistan is an extremely exciting opportunity for us \u2013 it boasts one of the largest foreign-born populations in both the UK and the US and, as people start to travel to visit loved ones, we\u2019re anticipating the demand\u202fto visit friends and relatives will increase post COVID-19.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We\u2019re thrilled to announce that from December, we\u2019ll be flying direct to Pakistan. This week the airline also announced its COVID-19 insurance cover for all existing and new bookings, traveling from August 24, 2020, up until March 31, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>British Airways and Pakistan International Airlines are operating direct flight service from United Kingdom to Pakistan.
