London<\/strong>: On the 31st of October, 2015, an unfortunate incident took the lives of 224 people on board a Russian aircraft, soon after it took off from the Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport. Most of the passengers on board were German and Russian nationals, and a few were British tourists. The authorities later found discrepancies in the airport\u2019s security protocols and apparatus. The new and updated security mechanisms assure the security of the passengers and tourists coming to Sharm el-Sheikh for a great vacation.<\/p>\n

Sharm el-Sheikh is again open for business for UK tourists. The German government allowed its citizens to visit this resort on the Sinai Peninsula a year after the tragedy. The Egyptian government has been cooperating and collaborating with many European governments to guarantee the safety and security of all tourists visiting this Red Sea resort. This part of Egypt<\/a> heavily relies on the revenues generated by the travel and tourism industry. It is now, after four years of the tragedy, that the restriction of UK flights to Sharm el-Sheikh<\/a> as been lifted. This move is the result of a long and close deliberation between British and Egyptian officials, who are eventually responsible for the safety of their citizens.<\/p>\n

Sharm el-Sheikh was one of the most popular winter tourist destinations for vacationers in the UK. The glittering cosmos spread across the Red Sea at sunset still attracts many tourists to the sand resort. Grant Shapps, UK\u2019s Secretary of Transport, acknowledged this new development. He said,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe safety of British nationals is our highest priority. This decision follows close cooperation between our safety specialists and Egyptian aviation security experts, and improvements in security protocols at the Sharm el-Sheikh Airport. We will continue to work closely with international airlines who desire to resume flights to and from the airport.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The TUI Group, amongst other holiday firms, has decided to start their flight services as soon as possible. Many travel experts believe, however, that the flights to Sharm el-Sheikh will not resume until the high season of summer 2020. It is overall a new and exciting development and adds to the list of holiday destinations for summer 2020.<\/p>\n
