Sir Peter Jackson have made the best use of New Zealand\u2019s jaw dropping destinations and all those tourists and die-hard fans who are taking cheap flights\u00a0to Auckland, will be left in awe once they head towards the actual movie set in Middle Earth.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"hobbiton_matamata\"><\/span><strong>Hobbiton (Matamata)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The set is located in Matamata town in the North Island and catches the attention of all the fans of Hobbit. With gardeny-green glory and hobbit-hole, Jackson has constructed the outdoor film set as a gift to all the beloved fans of the movie. No polystyrene- the set is made up of actual stone and wood and it will serve to be the permanent allurement of the region. You would love to stroll through the area where Gandalf reached, can dance under the Party Tree, gaze across the Green Dragon tavern and climb to Bilbo\u2019s house.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"mordor_tongariro_national_park\"><\/span><strong>Mordor (Tongariro National Park)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s move straight to Mordor from the Hobbiton- the place is known as Tongariro National Park. Skirting and crossing the Emerald lakes and active volcanoes along the Tongariro Alpine crossing\u00a0offers you a very memorable and unique day hike experience and then finally a detour to Mount Ngauruhoe- the best-loved walks of New Zealand. There are several different spots of this park that are used in this film. It will take almost 8 hours to cover all these locations of this great grand park.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"rivendell_wellywood\"><\/span><strong>Rivendell (Wellywood)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Offering you an amazing train ride from Tongariro to Wellington, this place is just a paradise. Very commonly called as \u201cWellywood\u201d, Wellington is actually the hottest spot of this world, when it comes to film-making. Wellington\u2019s Weta Workshop\u00a0is the must-see site- it has designed all the sets for \u201cThe Hobbit,\u201d and LOTR\u00a0, props\u00a0 and the computer effects.<\/p>\n<p>Moving towards the Miramar Peninsula, you will find the Weta Cave that sells movie maquettes, replicas, souvenirs and different books. The rustic wooden set is also visible and you can also stroll through the streets of Miramar.
