Singapore Airlines has contracted Panasonic Avionics to become the launch customer for the latest generation Panasonic eX3 IFECs (In-Flight Entertainment and Communication Systems). After spending $50 million for internet connectivity and mobile data access, Singapore Airlines<\/a><\/strong> will have the eX3 systems to allow broadband internet connectivity, live television broadcasts and cell phone services on its carriers.<\/p>\n

Singapore Airlines\u2019 aircraft are currently equipped with KrisWorld entertainment platforms. After installation of Panasonic Aviation\u2019s eX3s, the entertainment package would expand to offer video games, applications, an e-library of news and magazines, and a larger series of programs to choose from.<\/p>\n

The proposed in-flight entertainment and communication system would be installed in all new Airbus and Boeing aircraft which are due to be rolled out in Singapore Airlines\u2019 fleet expansion. These aircraft include 8 Boeing 777-300ERs, 20 Airbus A350s and 15 Airbus A330-300s, escalating the net estimates of the deal to \u00a3248 million.<\/p>\n
