The best thing about Puerto Escondido is that even after becoming a tourism hotspot it has maintained its laid back charm, unlike the many other Mexican coastal towns which because of the overdevelopment for catering to the tourist’s needs have lost their natural goodness. The place still has the feel of a small fishing town with a market in the downtown where you will still find the fishermen selling their freshly caught fish. Although Oaxaca has a small airport of its own but for the tourists arriving from abroad the better option will be to get a cheap flight to Mexico City<\/a><\/strong> from where you can easily arrange your journey to Oaxaca and ultimately to Puerto Escondido through the local bus service. Another feature that attracts tourist to the town is the low cost of accommodation, although the tourist traffic has increased quite a bit in the last few years but the prices for the town\u2019s hotels have remained low. If you want to spend your vacation in the relaxation mode then there a quite a few deserted beaches along the coast of Puerto Escondido that are perfect for a complete body tan and their waters are calm enough for the swimming.<\/p>\n

But the main attraction of the town is the thrilling surfing experience it offers to the tourists through its famous Surf break famous with the name of the Mexican Pipeline. If you are a surfing enthusiast then you will surely enjoy your stay in the town as the surfing experience here is considered at par with the one in the Hawaiian waters. If you are not interested in surfing then you can always hire a boat or tag along with the local fishermen and have a good time at the sea while sport fishing. The coastal waters are clear and the marine life is exotic so you can hire the snorkelling kit from one of the many resorts and snorkel in the waters along with the town.
