South African Airways launches range of discounted airfares

South African Airways has launched a range of discounted economy-class airfares for flights to South Africa. Tickets go on sale today and will be available until September 26. According to Thevan Krishna, SAA’s head of Australasia, the adult fares will be around the same price as currently available childrens’ fares.

“We have released fares out of Perth which are valid for departure from October 4 to November 23 and from January 16 to June 30. Fares from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney are valid for departure from January 16 to June 30,” Thevan said. The family-friendly deal also suffers further discounts of up to 67% of the already-reduced adult price for childrens’ airfares for departures until March 31.

“We can also offer highly competitive tickets to other South African and African destinations through our extensive network,” Thevan said. All tickets are subject to availability and exclude government charges and taxes and fuel surcharges. “We have seen huge demand in the last year for travel to South Africa due to the strong Australian dollar against the rand. These fares make travelling on board SAA and having an African holiday an even greater value for money experience, particularly for families but also for individual travellers,” Thevan said.

South African Airways flies non-stop from Perth to Johannesburg five times a week and five times a week from Sydney. SAA flies to 39 cities in 29 countries on six continents and is the leading carrier in Africa.
