First debris recovered from Air France crash

Brazil’s air force says a helicopter crew has recovered the first wreckage from Air France Flight 447 about 340 miles northeast of Brazil’s northern Fernando de Noronha islands. According to the Associated Press, a structural support piece of the jet about 8 feet long was fished from the ocean about noon ET today. A crew also retrieved two buoys. No bodies or human remains have been spotted. Air France flight  from  Rio de Janeiro to Paris, carrying 228 people, disappeared from radar during a thunderstorm late Sunday.
