China Southern Airlines (CZ) announces new flight schedules

China Southern Airlines (CZ), the largest carrier in the Peoples Republic of China, has announced its northern summer flight schedule, with daily flights from Australia to Guangzhou, and extensive onward flights throughout China. With the end of Daylight Saving in Eastern Australia from 05 April, China Southern will operate five nonstop flights per week from Sydney to Guangzhou, and two weekly nonstop flights from Melbourne to Guangzhou, all with dual class Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

The return to Australian Eastern Standard Time means China Southern’s Sydney flights will now depart at 10.50am Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while Melbourne flights will leave at 09.40am every Monday and Thursday, arriving late afternoon in Guangzhou. Beyond Guangzhou, China Southern offers an extensive network of services to key destinations throughout China, including:

  • 10 daily flights to Beijing the national capital of china
  • 8 daily flights to Shanghai historic commercial city of  china
  • 10 daily flights to Haikou, capital of the holiday island province of Hainan
  • 7 daily flights to the Hainan Island resort of Sanya, dubbed the “Hawaii of China”
  • 6 daily flights to Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, and renowned as a location for some of the earliest known human activity, with local tomb relics dating back 3000 years
  • 6 daily flights to Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, an important natural and cultural location, and home to the National Silk Museum and the Tea Museum
  • 5 daily flights to the world-famous economic and shopping hub of Hong Kong
  • 5 daily flights to Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province and gateway to the famous Silk Road
  • 5 daily flights to Guilin, one of China’s most historic and naturally beautiful cities, with attractions ranging from iconic Elephant Trunk Hill in the city centre to major caves and ancient villages
  • 4 daily flights to Wuhan, central China’s largest hub city, with history dating back 3500 years
  • 4 daily flights to Nanning, the “green city” and capital of Guangxi Province in China’s far south, bordering Vietnam “China is a land of rich history, natural beauty and many surprises,” said James Liu, General Manager Australia for China Southern Airlines. “From our gateway of Guangzhou, we provide easy connections for passengers arriving from Australia to continue to all of the key locations in China,” said Mr Liu. “There is also the very attractive option to spend time in Guangzhou, the historic and huge commercial hub once known as Canton, then fly to other parts of China.
