Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake says Sri Lanka is now facing the challenge of achieving development goals following the defeat of terrorism. Friendly countries should support Sri Lanka in this connection. Baharain is a country that maintains friendly relationship with Sri Lanka.
Therefore, he requests the entrepreneurs in Bharain to come forward to invest in Sri Lanka. He made this request at a meeting held with visiting Bharain delegation led by Prime Minister Sheik Kalifa bin Salman.
Expressing views at the meeting Bharain counterpart said his government is ready to continue support to Sri Lanka. Accordingly, Bharain intends to start direct flights to Colombo. He revealed that there is bid demand for Sri Lankan ornamental plants, vegetables and fruits in Bharain. The delegation met Foreign Minisrer Rohitha Bogollagama yesterday as well. Bharain Prime Minister is to sign several MOUs with the Sri Lankan government to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries.
