BUENOS AIRES - The Argentine government will lift its suspension on flights to and from Mexico, Cabinet Chief Sergio Massa said at a press conference Thursday. Argentina suspended the flights on April 28 on concern about the spread of the H1N1 flu virus, a move that strained diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Massa said officials here will continue to monitor the health of passengers who arrive to Argentina either directly or indirectly from Mexico, the US. or Canada.
"No country is free from the risk of a pandemic," said Massa. "We’re doing everything we can to prevent this problem in the world from becoming a problem in Argentina."
Argentina has confirmed one case of the H1N1 virus, though health officials here say the person developed no significant problems and no longer has any symptoms.
