Air Asia is planning to launch flights to Taipei

News added by Muhammad Kashif under Airline News

Taipei, Taiwan — Air Asia announced Tuesday that it will be offering flights from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from next month, joining the competition among several other carriers operating on the same route. On July 1, an Air Asia Airbus A330 will make the maiden flight from Kuala Lumpur to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and then fly the return route one hour later.

The Taipei-based China Airlines and EVA Air  as well as Malaysia Airlines all operate flights between Taipei and Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia, based in Malaysia, will be the third low-fare, no-frills airline to serve Taiwan since Singapore’s JetStar Asia Airways and the Philippines-based Cebu Pacific Air began operations in the country.
