The four star carrier, Emirates exclusively announces an update on government airport taxes, fees and charges to South Africa and Brazil, changes are effective from 31st August, 2011. In this announcement the amendments made by the carrier are effective to only these specific routes immediately. The carrier reduced the Embarkation tax to Brazil flights for as low as BLR 65.31 from BLR 67 for the travel commencing on and after 01stSeptember, 2011.
This specific change is applicable to all issued tickets in Brazil only, whereas Emirates also make changes in Air passenger tax to South Africa from ZAR 150 to ZAR 190. This change is effective for travel commencing from 01st October, 2011 and onwards except to Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland from ZAR 80 to ZAR 100.
