Vancouver International Airport is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown Vancouver, Vancouver Airport is also close to the municipalities of Burnaby, Delta and New Westminster and is currently seeing annual passenger figures of nearby 18 million and cargo flights handle some 230,000 tonnes of freight.

Getting to the city: Scheduled buses are available to downtown Vancouver, Whistler, Vancouver Island and Washington State; the Airporter bus to downtown Vancouver costs C$13.50 one way. Courtesy shuttles transport passengers to the Long-Term Parking Lot, South Terminal, local hotels and other destinations near the airport. Public bus services to Vancouver, Richmond and further afield are available at the Airport Station Bus Terminal, near the Delta Hotel; information on schedules and fares is available at TransLink, Tourism InfoCentres and Customer Service counters in both terminals. Car rentals and taxis are also available, as are Highend Limousines (604 298 1000).

Facilities:

Money and communications: Royal Bank of Canada has a branch in the Domestic Terminal. ATMs and bureaux de change are located in both the International and Domestic terminals. The International Currency Exchange (tel: (604) 656 1704) office on Level 3 in International Departures (pre-security) provides fax and photocopying services. Full postal facilities and mobile phone hire are available in the Arrivals area of the Domestic Terminal (inside 7-Eleven). Telephones and Internet access are available throughout the airport. Wireless Internet access is also available.
Eating and drinking: Licensed bars and restaurants, fast-food outlets, snack bars and coffee shops are located throughout the airport.
Shopping: Most shops are located in the International and Domestic Departures areas. Duty-free shopping is available in the International Terminal, with one outlet also available in the Domestic Departures area.
Luggage: Left-luggage facilities are available from CDS Baggage Storage (tel: (604) 303 4519), in the Arrivals area of the Domestic and International terminals.
Other facilities: The Domestic Terminal also has a pharmacy, medical clinic, dental clinic and dry cleaners. There are spa services, a 24-hour nursery and children’s play areas.

Car Rental: Car hire companies Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Thrifty are represented next to the terminal on the ground floor. Highend Limousines (604 298 1000) are also available to rent.

Parking: A selection of short- and long-term parking options are available, with a shuttle bus linking the more distant parking areas to the terminals. Valet parking is also available.
