The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is situated about 16km to the east of Nairobi city centre and is at a half an hour's drive from there. Driving to the airport is effortless as you just have to follow the signs while you are heading south east on the A104 past the Embakasi suburb.
The airport has a well planned design and the facilities include:

  •  Duty free shops
  •  Lost luggage service
  •  Baby/Parent Room
  •  Disabled Facilities
  •  Car rental

You can also hire a taxi available outside the arrival hall or use the frequent bus service that is available outside terminal 1 and 2.

There are around 12 airlines active at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and among them the biggest airline is Virgin Atlantic (VS). Some of the airlines other than the national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) include Emirates (EK), KLM Royal Dutch Airline (KL), British Air (BA), Egypt Air (MS), Turkish Airlines (TK) and Swiss Air (IATA: LX).
