MPM mostly offers flights to cities within the region.   The airport is situated three miles (5km) northwest of Maputo.

Buses 18, 24 & 25 run to the city hourly from 4.30am to 10pm. Taxis are availabe and cost around US$7 to the city centre. Car rental companies include Avis, Hertz and Imperial.Facilities are minimal and include a bank, restaurant, bar and post office. The airport is in need of an upgrade.

Departure Tax: US$20, or US$10 if travelling within Africa.

Maputo International Airport (MPM) serves as the international gateway to the country and LAM Mozambique Airways is the national airline. International destinations include flights to and from Durban, Johannesburg and Nairobi. Other airlines serving the country are South African Airways (Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town), TAP Portugal (Lisbon, Johannesburg), Air Zimbabwe (Harare) and Kenya Airways (Nairobi). Swaziland is served as well.
LAM Mozambique Airways flies between Maputo and Beira, Chimoio, Inhambane, Nampula, Pemba, Quelimane, Tete and Vilanculos. Air Corridor has flights betweenMaputo and Beira, Nampula, Quelimane and Tete.
