London Luton Airport is an international airport located 1.5 NM (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) east of the town centre in the Borough of Luton in Bedfordshire, England and is 30.5 NM (56.5 km; 35.1 mi) north of Central London. The airport is 2 mi (3.2 km) from Junction 10a of the M1 motorway. It is the fourth largest airport serving the London area after Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, and is one of London's five international airports along with London City Airport.
Facilities:
Money and communications: Bureaux de change, ATMs and web-enabled telephones can be found throughout the terminal building. There is an Internet café in the terminal, and Wireless Internet access is available in bars, restaurants and public seating areas.
Eating and drinking: The airport has a range of restaurants, cafés and bars, including a food court and a traditional English pub.
Shopping: There is a wide variety of shops at the airport, including 24-hour duty-free shopping and a 24-hour newsagent and bookstore.
Luggage: There are no left-luggage facilities at there airport. There is a lost property office (tel: (01582) 395 219).
Other facilities: These include a children’s play centre, baby care rooms and a chapel.
Getting to the city: Trains leave regularly to Kings Cross, Farringdon, City Thameslink, Blackfriars and London Bridge stations. Train journeys to central London take 20-25 minutes with providers such as East Midlands Trains and First Capital Connect. Tickets can be bought from the Onward Travel centre at the airport or online. Luton Airport Parkway Train Station is connected to the terminal by a free shuttle bus service. Easybus, Green Line and National Express buses run daily between the airport and central London. Taxis operate from outside the airport terminal 24-hours a day and car rental is also available.
Car Rental: Car rental companies include Avis, Hertz, Europcar and National Alamo.
Parking: There is short-term parking, and 'executive' parking next to the terminal. Long-term (valet) parking operates near the terminal - your car will be taken away to another compound while you are away. Passengers who book in advance via the airport website get discounted parking rates.
