Angola's international airport is to be found 4km from Luanda, its capital. This airport is named as Quatro de Fevereiro Airport (LAD) and is not very extensive. It is said that the pace of the service at the airport is unhurried and thus one should arrive at least 4-5 hours before departure time. The airport staff is also reported to be asking for 'gifts' (bribe) and if you do not have someone to get you through, then a stern NO would help you getting away with it.

The inadequate facilities at the airport include:

•  Restaurant and bar
•  Post office and money exchange facility
•  Medical facilities providing a yellow fever and cholera vaccination service

There are no taxis available at the airport; however, an Avis car rental facility is available. It is recommended to ask your sponsor to arrange for the transport.

Ethiopian Airways (ET), TAP Air Portugal (TP), Brussels Airline (SN), South African Airways (SA), Lufthansa (LH), Virgin Atlantic (VS) and Emirates (EK) serve the Quatro de Fevereiro Airport (LAD).
