Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, about 30 minute drive from Arusha and 45 minute drive from Moshi, which sits at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

This small airport offers service with both scheduled and charter airlines and provides convenient access to Mount Kilimanjaro and northern Tanzania. Africa’s first truly privatized international airport, JRO has developed its services to match this accomplishment. A nearby hotel and leisure center are part of a plan to increase traffic to the area. The modest terminal supports the small number of flights that pass through the airport, but passengers can expect to wait at immigration upon arrival. The Tanzanian tax authorities collect a passenger service charge. A performing folk group often greets arriving passengers.
