Lungi International Airport is 13km north of Freetown city centre. It lies in the coastal town of Lungi as the Sierra Leone River separates it from the country's capital, Free Town. This is the main airport for international and domestic flights to and from Sierra Leone.

The facilities at this international airport include:

•  Bank and money exchange facility

•  Lost and found baggage office

For traveling from the airport to Free Town there are not many travel options available. The cheapest and most frequently used is the ferry service however; there is a chance of overloading and crime. Personal boats are also available but it is advised to use the local fishing boats. It is also advised to passengers arriving at night to wait till daylight for safety reasons and also not to take the road route via bus or taxi as it is too long. A helicopter service is also available and takes around 6mins to the city from airport.
