Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is Scotland's premier airport, serving about the same throughput of passengers as Glasgow Airport and providing a gateway to the capital city and the east of Scotland.
There is just one terminal at Edinburgh Airport, which is served by numerous airlines that travel to more than 100 worldwide destinations.
Getting to the city: Airlink 100 buses connect between the airport and the city centre every 10 minutes, from early morning until after midnight, and cost £3 (calling at the Waverley and Haymarket train stations). There are many alternative buses including Night bus N22, Service 35 and Airdirect 747, that run to the city centre via a couple of stops en route. Stops for public buses are situated at stand 18 on the terminal forecourt road outside the UK Arrivals Hall. The designated taxi rank is also outside the UK Arrivals Hall beside the coach park. Car rental companies are also available. Journey time to the city centre is about 25 minutes.
Facilities:
Money and communications: Two banks are located on the Departures level, and one on the Arrivals level. ATMs and public telephones can be found throughout the airport and at the Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station. Wireless Internet access is available.
Eating and drinking: There are many bars, cafés and restaurants at the airport.
Shopping: There are plenty of shops at the airport - from gift shops and fashion stores to food shops and duty-free outlets. Shops are open from early morning until late at night, seven days a week.
Luggage: Porters are available (tel: (0211) 421 6888/6637). Left-luggage and a lost and found service are available on the first floor of car park 3 (tel: (0211) 421 2515).
Other facilities: The airport has first aid and baby change facilities, as well as a non-denominational prayer room. A pharmacy and a dental practice are located in the Airport Arcades.
Parking: The short-term car park is adjacent to the terminal building. The long-term car park is a few minutes away; a courtesy bus ferries passengers to the terminal. There are discounts available if parking is pre-booked; book online or call +44 (0)121 410 5105.
