Birmingham International Airport is an international airport located 5.5 NM (10.2 km; 6.3 mi) east southeast of Birmingham city centre, at Bickenhill in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull within the West Midlands, England.
Birmingham Airport comprises two terminals, the main terminal (Terminal 1) and the Eurohub (Terminal 2).
The terminals are joined by a common walkway and provide flights to a multitude of destinations throughout Britain, Europe and the rest of the world. Birmingham Airport handles in excess of nine million passengers annually, with around 50 different airlines flying to more than 100 worldwide destinations, such as Dubai, Paris, New York, Orlando and Toronto. The check-in and arrivals areas are located on the ground floor and departures can be found on the first floor.
Getting to the city: Taxis are available from outside passenger terminals and cost around £18 to the city. Buses to the city centre and surrounds can be caught opposite Terminal 2 at the Bus and Coach Terminus. Bus 900 travels to the city centre from stand K. Trains run from Birmingham International to Birmingham New Street Station and vice versa during the day but are less frequent in the evenings and on weekends.
Facilities
Money and communications: Two ATMs are located on the upper level between concourses B and C. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the terminal. Technical support (tel: (205) 599 0541) is available during office hours Monday-Friday 0800-1630.
Eating and drinking: The food court islocated on the upper level in the area between concourses B and C, before the security checkpoint. Fast food outlets, restaurants, a deli and a snack bar are available.
Shopping: There are shops selling gift items in concourses B and C.
Luggage: Lost and found services are available at the information desk (tel: (205) 599 0500).
Other facilities: Skycaps are stationed outside the upper level to assist departing passengers with their luggage. Skycap service is also available at baggage claim.
Car rental: Car rental companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National. All car hire booking desks are located in the Millennium Link Building, a short walk from both Terminals 1 and 2 the International Terminal.
