18 km south east of Algiers lays the Houari Boumedienne Airport. Located in the capital of Algeria, this international airport was opened to public in 2006. It was named after a former Algerian president.

The airport however does not have many facilities like the other airports around the world, though some of them include:

•  Restaurants
•  Internet access
•  Car rental and taxi services

The taxis and train operates from the airport to the city centre between 6am and 7pm. The journey takes around 40mins. Major car rental companies operating at the airport include Alamo, Sixt, Avis, Europcar and Hertz.

Airline operating at the airport include Lufthansa (LH), TAP Air Portugal (TP), British Airways (BA), Alitalia (AZ) and Iberia (IB).
